The Mediocre Men continue to progress at a decent pace. A few weeks ago we killed Anub'arak on the heroic 25 man difficulty, after well over two months of limited attempts if any at all. When we finally got over the school and holiday daze to kill it, from our very first attempts back in October of '09 to our killing stroke this January of '10, we logged a mere 7 hours of attempts. The bulk of those were the week we killed him.
Outside of Trial of the Crusader, we've killed everything Icecrown 25 has thrown at us so far, with the exception of Blood Queen Lanathel who I predict will be going down on Sunday. Another wing will come shortly and assuredly some more easy mode kills.
In the smaller 10 man world, one of our 10 man groups has been bouncing in and out of 25th place worldwide - the same 10 man group that has the only 'Tribute to Dedicated Insanity' achievement earned on Thunderlord. Amazing job there.
And all of that said, The Mediocre Men are recruiting for 25 man raids!
With school continuing to be a thorn in our side, we're looking to boost our numbers with the following classes:
Enhancement shaman
DPS death knight
Rogue
High dps guys
Our raid times are 6-11 Sunday-Wednesday. We're very serious about raiding, so please be just as serious. Sure, we like to joke around even more than the next guy, but high quality of play is a must. If your damage isn't as high as your gear's potential, apply when it is. But if it is, we are on the lookout for heavy hitters as we close in on unlocking heroic Icecrown Citadel in just a few weeks.
Holidays and finals have been pushing us back a bit, but we finally got Sartharion3D down. Everything seemed to click and we got it done in about an hour of attempts on Monday.
I was going to post a screenshot of Killingjoke on the mount, but Shayolghul ninja looted it. Maybe that's for the best anyway.
It's been awhile since there's been a news post, mostly my fault and a thousand different things that keep me distracted. Here's a rundown on what we've done since the last:
Pre-Wrath, we cleared everything up to M'uru pre-nerf. With the school season firing back up, we didn't quite have enough geared players around to make that M'uru kill happen, and had more enjoyed time off than we had raids.
With the release of 3.0 and its raid content nerfs, we were able to go back to filling a raid with more than 15 people by bringing our under-geared spectator/PvP members. We downed M'uru and Kil'jaeden to complete a full Sunwell clear with pretty much zero effort, as was to be expected.
Since the release of the expansion on November 13th, we've done a whole bunch of stuff:
All 10 mans on farm within 7 days of release.
Sartharion 25-man down on November 22nd.
Server first Naxxramaas 25-man clear on November 23rd.
Server first Malygos 25-man kill on November 24th.
Server first kills of Sartharion with 1 and 2 drakes, with the full 3 drake Twilight Zone achievement coming up this week.
And now just a whole lot of masturbation until the Ulduar patch.
